Web Accessibility Statement

At Mutualidad, we work to ensure that our website is accessible, usable, and understandable for everyone, including people with disabilities, older adults, and those who use assistive technologies to browse the internet.

This website has been designed and developed in accordance with current regulations on universal accessibility and digital accessibility, in particular Royal Decree 193/2023 on the basic conditions for accessibility and non-discrimination in access to and use of goods and services available to the public; Royal Decree 1112/2018 on the accessibility of public sector websites and mobile applications, used as a technical reference for digital accessibility; and Law 11/2023, insofar as it applies to certain products and services. In addition, the European standard EN 301 549 and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 have been taken into account. These guidelines establish verifiable accessibility criteria organized into levels A, AA, and AAA. WCAG 2.1 defines three levels of conformance — A, AA, and AAA — with AAA being the highest level.

What we have implemented

The objective applied in the design and development of the website has been to achieve, at a minimum, WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance, while also incorporating additional Level AAA criteria whenever technically and functionally feasible.

To this end, the following measures, among others, have been implemented:

  • Alternative text for images, icons, graphics, and visual controls when they convey relevant information.
  • Proper identification of decorative images to avoid interference with screen readers.
  • Visual design based on contrast, readability, and content hierarchy criteria.
  • Use of information that is not based exclusively on color.
  • Ability to enlarge text without loss of content or functionality.
  • Responsive design adaptable to different devices, resolutions, and screen orientations.
  • Keyboard-operable navigation, with logical tab order, visible focus, and no keyboard traps.
  • Skip links to main content to facilitate navigation.
  • Interactive elements — buttons, links, forms, and controls — with understandable labels, instructions, and functions.
  • Forms with associated labels, instructions, clear error messages, and visible confirmations.
  • Semantic content structure through hierarchical headings.
  • Use of clear, direct, and understandable language.
  • Proper definition of the content language.
  • Semantic HTML code and use of ARIA attributes where necessary.
  • Compatibility with screen readers and other assistive technologies.
  • Accessible announcements of dynamic changes using techniques such as aria-live where necessary.
  • Automated validations and manual accessibility reviews using tools such as AXE, WAVE, or Lighthouse.
  • Absence of audiovisual content, automatic animations, complex infographics, or flashing/blinking elements that could hinder navigation.

Accessibility statement

Accessibility is an ongoing process of continuous improvement. Therefore, Mutualidad will continue incorporating accessibility criteria into the design, development, maintenance, and updating of its digital content, as well as into future website evolutions.
